At the Law Office of Jennifer Zide, it is our commitment to protecting the individual in the system that drives us. I grew up at Lake Tahoe, which contributed to my lifelong love of nature and open spaces. My interest in art and archaeology led me to attend New York University undergrad on scholarship. Later, my interest in human rights, social justice, and environmental issues led me to attend Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. While there, i received a grant from the Public Interest Law Foundation to work in indigent criminal defense and clerked with the Los Angeles County Public Defender, Alternate Defender, and Federal Defender.
My experience ranges from helping domestic violence victims and clients in low~income legal services, to civil law, to criminal defense as a deputy public defender, both in Mendocino County and in Ventura County. I have over 10 years of Criminal Defense experience in private practice. As a Deputy Public Defender, I received an award from the Mendocino County Bar Association for my dedicated defense of my clients and exceptional case results, including at trial.
I am motivated by my sincere belief in helping the individual and in creating justice in the system. At the law office of Jennifer Zide, we care about our clients as people and value the part we can play in removing obstacles for you and helping you move toward freedom.
We also believe in giving back to the community by donating to groups that support causes such as the well-being of our planet, support for American farmers, and support for animal welfare. Our past Involvement with the Ventura Chamber of Commerce included an initiative to promote the greening of local small businesses, to create a more environmentally~friendly Ventura. Some of our past and present donations include FarmAid to support American farmers, Sierra Club California, the Ventura Hillsides Conservancy to help preserve our open spaces, Ventura County Humane Society, the Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and the Return to Freedom Wild Mustang Sanctuary in Lompoc.
Some of my personal interests include nature and wildlife, art, live music, and travel. I am a member in good standing of the State Bar of California and the Ventura County Bar Association. At the Law Office of Jennifer Zide, your personal freedom is not just our business; it’s our passion.
